ELEANOR DUPREE
I am employed as Secretary to the Education Line Officer at Cheyenne
River Agency in Eagle Butte, South Dakota for 8+ years. My career as a Secretary
began in 1975 and it has been a learning and growing experience as technology became a big
part of our world. In order to keep up with progress, I received my Associates
degree in Office Systems from Northern State University. I enjoy my job very much
because of the various responsibilities and duties involved, encountering challenging
situations and meeting different people but mainly having a supportive and caring
supervisor and also some wonderful co-workers. I am a strong believer in education
and am proud to be a team member at the Cheyenne River Agency Education Line Office under
the competent direction of Dr. Cherie Farlee. Some of the critical elements in my
position include: receptionist, administrative support tasks, timekeeping, records
management, processing Tort Claims and accident/injury reports. Recently I have
been designated Federal Tort Claim Coordinator for the Agency Education office.
I am the proud mother of three grown sons,
Dustin; Doug, Jr.; and Dan and grandmother of three granddaughters and one
grandson. My family and I are enrolled members of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe in
South Dakota. We were born and raised on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation and
are lifelong residents.
My hobbies are reading romance and mystery novels; spending
quality time with my family; shopping for my grandchildren; going to pow-wows; visiting
with friends and watching news shows on TV.
Many people call me "Ellie" and I prefer that over
my given name.
